Free Helicopter Rides for Children 7-17
Our owner, Rick Rahim, is an accomplished helicopter and airplane pilot. He has been flying search and rescue missions for Project Lifesaver and the Chesapeake Sheriff's Office for many years. He also volunteers his time flying youngsters ages 7-17 as part of EAA's Young Eagles Program.
Last year (2007), Rick was honored as the #1 Young Eagles pilot in the State of Virginia by the Virginia Department of Aviation. It is the stated mission of the Young Eagles Program to introduce young people to the wonders of flight in general aviation aircraft.
With the support of Sheriff John Newhart and Project Lifesaver, Rick is able to offer FREE HELICOPTER RIDES to interested groups of young people.
All participants must have written permission from their legal guardian. The minimum group size is 10 children. Rides usually depart from Leesburg Airport or Manassas Airport.
At the end of the ride, participants will receive a certificate commemorating their flight. Photo opportunities with the pilot and aircraft will also be available the day of flight.
We can accommodate large groups of several hundred and we can also send a pilot to your school or other meeting to talk about the wonders of flight.
We volunteer our time and resources to the children. There is no cost for these services. The children's smiles are payment enough for us.
If you have a group of 10 or more children ages 7-17 who would like to experience flight in a helicopter, please do not hesitate to call us!
